Back Story

Hi Friends!

I decided to start a blog about becoming a published author.  The drive has always been there.  When I was in middle school my friends and I would pass around a spiral notebook like it was crack.  We would take turns writing chapters in a book we would make up.  It was great fun. 

I have now decided to take my writing to the next level.  I have written an inspirational novel about my trials as a seeing person going to a non seeing person and back to a seeing person again.  It is quite complex and worth the read! 

I want to keep you updated on the process.

In January 2012 I decided to start writing.  One night I had the idea laid out and the prologue done.  I decided to go online to find a publisher.  I found one literary agent who wanted to see the first thirty pages before they decided if they would work with me or not.  I spent that weekend writing the first thirty and submitted them via the Internet. 

I found out about a week later that they liked my style, and that they were offering to publish me.  I spent the next few months (up until yesterday actually) writing the book.  It has become a work of art in my mind!!

I knew I was close to being done about a month ago, so I called my agent and signed my contract with him. 

I submitted my manuscript to the company today, and I got an e-mail response back right away.  They are working on the website to make the purchasing of the novel easier. 

Let me tell you, writing a book is not easy!  It can be done by anyone, since I believe that everyone has a book in them.  The key is to keep coming back to what you have written and making it better and better.

I heard the editing process is a long one.  I intend to spend the next month with editors to get it just write for my family and friends.
